“Take your shoes off,” Sabrina Carpenter sings — and yes, she really means it in her new $9.95 million Tribeca penthouse. The 26-year-old singer scooped up the 2,900-square-foot duplex $550,000 under asking price.
Carpenter’s condo sits within the 108 Leonard building in Tribeca, a Renaissance style landmark designed by the McKim, Meade and White firm in 1894. According to The Peebles Corporation, the architects “set the standard” of architectural design in New York after designing the first Madison Square Garden and Pennsylvania Station. The building houses several other celebrities, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
Inside the Sale
The luxury penthouse was originally listed by New-York-based Frances Katzen and Douglas Elliman in December 2024 for $11.5 million, then got a significant decrease in price to $10.5 million. The seller, Cassandra Grey, whose move from New York to Los Angeles inspired her 2012 e-commerce beauty site Violet Gray, purchased the home for $10.8 million in 2022. According to a loan document filed within the city, the mortgage for the unit is $6.5 million.
Inside the Building
The building was previously the headquarters of New York Life Insurance Co., then was transformed into condos in 2018 by the Elad Group. Carpenter’s unit boasts three bedrooms and three full bathrooms and four private terraces. The terraces look over each side of the penthouse, facing north, south, east and west.
The crisp white interior and banks of floor-to-ceiling windows creates a bath of natural, bright light within the stark interior. The kitchen holds a large marble island and backsplash, their abstractness contrasting the symmetrical herringbone flooring pattern throughout the entire condo. The master bedroom showcases more floor-to-ceiling windows, along with a working fireplace. The two other bedrooms are smaller in size, but all three provide access to each of the many terraces.
The 22,000 square-foot building is complete with a fitness center, indoor pool and an expansive lounge. The unit itself comes with a private storage unit and on-site parking.
Carpenter’s real estate history
This penthouse is the “Espresso” singer’s third property. “She made her first big purchase in the real estate world just months after she wrapped up “Girl Meets World,” picking up a $1.7 million property in the Los Angeles suburb of Northridge in 2018. Although Carpenter has owned it for a few years, there are not many details known about it,” said Realtor.
In 2023, Carpenter started opening for Taylor Swift on her “Eras” tour; she bought a 1930s Spanish Colonial in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills neighborhood for $4.4 million. The house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, and is surrounded by gardens complete with olive trees and vibrant flowers. This home has juxtaposing architecture to her newest Tribeca purchase, boasting dark appliances and Italian fixtures with more vintage touches throughout the home.
Carpenter’s home portfolio is quickly expanding with different styles of homes, and purchases in the coming years will excitingly reflect her success as a modern pop diva. Brokerverse can’t wait to see what she does with the space; perhaps fans will get a real house tour.
