Brown Harris Stevens Taps Top Producer Maggie Ross as New Managing Director of Brooklyn

Brown Harris Stevens (BHS) has officially welcomed Maggie Ross as the new Managing Director of Sales for the firm’s Brooklyn offices.

The announcement, which was made earlier this month, shared the news that Ross – a former top producer for both Corcoran and Compass – has stepped into the newly designated role of Managing Director. Ross will oversee all four of BHS’ Brooklyn locations, further shaping the firm’s strategic positioning in the region, and collaborating with corporate leaders across the boroughs to continue honing their strong Northeast market presence.

“Maggie is a star with a strong command of both the Brooklyn market and the broader New York City landscape,” Bess Freedman, CEO of Brown Harris Stevens, said in a recent statement. “Her strategic mindset, collaborative approach, and steady leadership make her the ideal choice to guide our Brooklyn operations and further align the region with the firm’s long-term vision.”

Ross’ appointment will unite BHS’ Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights and Bay Ridge offices under one leader. The move signifies the first unification effort post-merger with Halstead, which was finalized in June 2020.

Notable achievements

Prior to joining BHS, Ross practiced antitrust and commercial litigation in Manhattan upon receiving Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.

She made the transition to real estate in Cobble Hill at a boutique brokerage, before moving to a larger Brooklyn firm. She played a key role in setting the record for the fastest sale of a large condominium building in New York City in 2010.

Ross’ future with BHS

“I’m thrilled to join Brown Harris Stevens at such a dynamic moment for the firm,” said Ross. “This role gives me the opportunity to elevate the work I find most meaningful—serving Brooklyn, supporting its agents, and deepening our connection to the community—within one of the most respected brokerages in the country.”
