Saddle Ridge Farm, the last gentleman’s farm in Burr Ridge, Illinois, is the last of its kind–and is selling for $10 million dollars. A gentleman’s farm does not make profit from owning agricultural land; it is for personal enjoyment. The 9,300 square foot estate boasts six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a great room and office. On the property is a two-bedroom coach house–a disconnected second structure on the property–which is complete with a kitchen and bathroom.
If the property is sold, it will be for the most amount of money of any other property on Burr Ridge’s land. The area has a rich history and sits close to local schools, making it enticing to future homeowners.

Saddle Hill Farm and has been listed by McCleary Group Real Estate. The bedrooms are classically elegant, with bright colors and wood fixtures, while the children’ s room has a large nature-themed mural on the wall.
“Saddle Hill Farm is an iconic estate with outstanding curb appeal. People in this area know the home and have admired it over the years,” said Megan McCleary of McCleary Group Real Estate What makes the farm so unique is its equestrian accommodations. McCleary added that the farm has grandfathered horse rights, meaning it protects the ownership of horses even if the district attempts to change the regulations.
Who owns Burr Ridge?
The entirety of Burr Ridge is divided into multiple separately-owned properties. According to The Chicago Tribune, the estate is currently owned by Jacqueline Laase Parrillo, an Illinois resident. She bought the property in 2002 for $1.65 million, then she and her then-husband, Beau Parrillo, bought an adjoining 3-acre tract in 2007 for $1.8 million.
Parrillo listed the estate on an agents’ only website, but there are videos of the interior online.
Why is this sale significant?
Saddle Hill Farm has not been listed for sale since its purchase in 2002. If the property sells for its listing price, $10 million, it will be the most expensive property in Bull Ridge to date. The second highest selling price of a Bull Ridge property was a 6 bedroom, 17,120 square foot house bought by, late rapper, Juice WRLD’s mother in 2022 for $6.9 million.
According to the Chicago Tribune, McCleary told Elite Street, “People in this area know the home and have admired it over the years. It’s the only property that exists of this size and magnitude just 20 miles from downtown Chicago and that feeds into highly regarded Hinsdale schools…The majestic main house, charming coach house and incredible grounds provide so many options for whoever is fortunate to call this home.”
Saddle Hill Farm is serene, rich in history and in a welcoming area. It is significantly unique in its equestrian grandfathered rights and provides incredible scenery to the area. Whoever purchases the estate will make history buying the most expensive property in Bull Ridge, and will be able to enjoy an equestrian farm freely.
