An oceanfront estate in Palm Beach, Florida is now the most expensive listing on the market this season for $205 million. if it sells for the asking price, it will set a price record for the island.
The estate, located at 1491 North Ocean Blvd. in Palm Beach, is listed with Christian Angle Real Estate. The 4.8-acre compound is 14,500 square-feet featuring a six-bedroom main house with six and a half bathrooms. The home also includes a two-bedroom guest house with two and a half bathrooms, a pool house and two pools.
Prior to the record-breaking sale
In 2002, the property was bought for $14 million with the home being finished in 2005. The estate was once home to the late Frank Wilkens, co-founder of the investment firm Wilkens and Nanovic in Greenwich, Connecticut. Wilkens passed away in 2011, and his wife, Maureen Wilkens died in April.
The current Palm Beach single-family sales record is $170 million. In 2023, Michael Cantanucci, a luxury car dealer, purchased the oceanfront estate at 580 North County Road.
Second highest statewide
Selling for 205 million would fall short for a statewide record. In April, the Florida price record hit an ultimate high when the billionaire Degroote family sold their waterfront home in Naples for $225 million.
Last year, Gordon Pointe listed an estate in Naples asking for $295 million. Stewart Satter listed a 4-acre oceanfront Manalpan compound for $280 million.
