Brown Harris Stevens (BHS), one of the nation’s premier privately held real estate firms, announced Christopher Halstead’s promotion to Chief Strategy Officer on November 13.

Halstead joined the brokerage in 2009 after transitioning into real estate from advertising. He was appointed Executive Sales Director of Connecticut in 2021.

In his new role, Halstead will oversee the implementation of company-wide initiatives, streamline operations and efficiencies across regions. He plans to assist with office renovations and strategic projects. Halstead will provide additional leadership support to directors and agents throughout the BHS network, according to a press release.

In his new role as Chief Strategy Officer, he will split time between BHS headquarters in New York City and Connecticut – though his duties will remain heavily concentrated on Connecticut operations and strategy to drive growth in the state.

“Christopher’s leadership, insight, and commitment to excellence have long set him apart,” said BHS CEO Bess Freedman. “He has an incredible ability to connect with our agents and managers, understand their needs, and execute strategies that elevate our business. I’m confident that in this new role, he will continue to strengthen our operations and position Brown Harris Stevens for long-term success.”

Halstead’s family legacy in real estate led him to BHS. His late uncle, Clark Halstead, founded the Halstead brand, which was absorbed by BHS in 2021.

“I’m honored to take on this new role and continue contributing to a company that means so much to me and my family,” said Christopher Halstead. “BHS has always represented integrity, teamwork, and excellence. I look forward to helping strengthen our operations, support our agents, and carry forward our mission to deliver the highest level of service in every market we serve.”
