As movie superstar Brad Pitt was on tour for his new movie, F1, three men entered his house, two being 18-years-old, and stole miscellaneous items at an undisclosed value. While the three are facing charges for the burglary, Pitt has claimed a new mansion in Hollywood Hills.
The home itself
The 6-bedroom, 7.5 bathroom home is located in a private community in Hollywood Hills called Outpost Estates. The mansion was previously owned by Kevin Keuning, guitarist for the veteran band The Killers, and his wife, Emilie Keuning, which they bought for $9.6 million in 2021. According to Robb Report, after renovations by Keuning and his wife, this selling point is $2.4 million higher than when the pair bought the home. The Keunings originally listed the home for $13.99 million, landing almost $2 million below their asking price during the sale.
The mansion was built in the late 1980s and follows a Spanish style familiar to southern California, with a white stucco exterior that contrasts with the dark accents within its simple details. It flaunts a classic, reddish-brown tile roof and is complete with steel bars on the windows and fence. The $12 million home is around 8,385 square feet, and is complete with french doors, a wraparound balcony, a vaulted movie theater fit for a movie star and a backyard sporting a floating pool and expansive garden.
The future is promising for Brad Pitt as he enters ownership of a new property that will, hopefully, be safeguarded from any similar incidents that happened to his previous Los Angeles home. There is no telling how long this home will remain in his possession, but it is an exciting beginning for Pitt.
Pitt’s new addition will add to his growing list of homes, which includes a compound in Los Feliz and homes in Malibu, Santa Barbara and New Orleans. The longest period of time that Pitt has owned a property is the shared winery in France, which he has partially had for over 30 years. His real-estate portfolio flaunts a total of $130 million, and while he is known first for his films, he is also an avid fan of intriguing architecture.
Pitt’s realty history
Pitt has not listed his previous home, The Steel House, and doesn’t appear to be in any rush to sell. The actor purchased the Los Angeles property in 2023 from oil heiress Aileen Getty for $5.5 million. Built with a striking midcentury design, the residence lives up to its name, with an exterior made entirely of steel and glass, a modernist gem tucked away in the Hollywood Hills.
While visually impressive, The Steel House is modest in scale compared to many of Pitt’s other homes. Inside, the 2,000-square-foot layout includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, offering a minimalist, almost jewel-box feel. The property’s compact size and open-plan architecture lean more toward architectural statement than sprawling luxury, making it stand out in Pitt’s otherwise expansive real estate portfolio.
That said, Pitt’s newest addition promises something The Steel House cannot: more space and more privacy. Whether for entertaining, housing visiting family, or simply enjoying a greater sense of seclusion, the upgrade offers both practical benefits and a heightened sense of security.
