Sharon Osbourne has listed the expansive home, which she shared with her late husband Ozzy Osbourne and their children, just months after the famous heavy metal musician’s death on April 6th, for $17 million.
The property, which is listed by Jonah Wilson and Josh Greer of Carolwood Estates, caught the attention of the famous Hollywood couple in 2015 who purchased it for $11.85 million.
In 2022, the Osbourne’s attempted to list the seven-bedroom, 7.5 bathroom property for $18 million, and then reduced the price to $17.5 million, before deciding to take the home off the market completely.
During that time, the couple had decided to part ways with the home and relocate back to the U.K., where the family owns a vast estate in Buckinghamshire, the location it is said that Sharon and Ozzy had been living when the musician passed away at 76 from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
However, the couple’s listing agent, Wilson, confessed to Wall Street Journal that the two were hesitant about selling the home.
Now at age 73, Sharon is making another attempt to sell the property again. Her agents explained to the outlet that she is splitting her time between the U.K. and L.A., and is using an apartment in California, whenever she is visiting the West Coast.
Inside the home
The 7.5-bathroom, seven-bedroom property was built in the 1930s and spans 11,565 square feet.
Before guests step foot inside the home, they are greeted by tall gates that ensure privacy, including luscious green scenery and tall trees that surround the home’s white facade.
“Situated behind tall gates for maximum privacy, this stunning property has been meticulously restored with attention to detail and craftsmanship rarely found today,” the listing describes.
Once they step inside, they are met by an elegant foyer that features a chic wooden staircase, high ceilings, and a glamorous chandelier.
“Sharon and Ozzy spent several years restoring the property to its 1920s glory and the movie theater still features many iconic Hollywood legends including signature stars who have visited the home, such as Mel Tormé, Elvis Presley, and Natalie Wood,” listing agent Greer told the Wall Street Journal.
“Careful restorations have maintained the historical architecture, while elevating the property to a level of epic glamour with all the modern luxuries of today,” the listing adds.
The living space is a perfect place where guests can lounge around which features a cozy fireplace, an elegant chandelier, and enormous windows allowing natural light to flood inside.
In the second lounge area, the space includes wooden walls and an aesthetic fireplace.
“Public rooms on the main level include a living room, grand entrance foyer, formal dining room, wood paneled library, and areas perfect for staff or home office,” reveals the listing.
Inside the kitchen, it features state-of -the-art appliances, with white cabinets, and a spacious breakfast nook.
“An extraordinary chef’s kitchen opens to the family room, breakfast room, and outdoor dining area with pizza oven and barbecue,” the listing notes.
On the first floor, there is a spectacular movie room decorated in red velvet that showcases a fireplace and a large projector.
“A magnificent screening room situated on the lower level exudes the magic of old Hollywood complete with fireplace and bar,” reads the listing.
The upstairs features four en suite bedrooms. The primary suite comes with dual baths and a walk in closet that “fits for royalty” according to the listing.
The elevator connects to every level of the lavish home.
On the outside, guests are met with a lavish lawn, gardens, and a resort-style pool covered in mosaic tiles. Above the garage, a guest apartment completes the estate.
From the U.K. to Los Angeles
The listing comes months after Sharon listed another Los Angeles property–a West Hollywood condo that was put on the market for $2.38 million in November.
The elegant unit was listed by Wilson and Greer, including their family friend Rudy Serrato was purchased for $2.25 million in 2022, by the family’s longtime financial advisor, who oversees a majority of the Osbournes property portfolio over the years.
It’s unclear whom the unit is being used by, but it’s understood that the Osbornes have not resided in the building for some time, since they have made it clear in 2022 their desire to quit Los Angeles and return to the U.K.
According to property records, the condo is currently under contingent offer.
In an interview, The Observer revealed that Ozzy has openly expressed that he desires to spend the remainder of his life in the U.K. and grew frustrated with his life in the U.S.
However, the move was put to a halt due to Ozzy’s health concerns that required him to stay in California longer than he’d hoped.
Eventually, Ozzy returned to the U.K. and bid his goodbyes to America. Less than four months after his return, he returned to the stage to perform with his Black Sabbath bandmates where they performed together for the first time in over 20 years.
Ozzy emotionally thanked his fans and bandmates for their support over the years during the show.
Just four weeks later, Ozzy died at the age of 76 from complications of cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease, according to the New York Times.
