Umansky stars in “Buying Beverly Hills,” a real estate-based reality series streaming on Netflix. He has also made appearances in “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Reality TV show star Mauricio Umansky’s real estate team has expanded to Houston, adding to his ever-growing list of locations.
The Agency’s interest in purchasing Sugar Land
Sugar Land’s Sansone group, previously run by the Re/Max Fine Properties banner, was adopted by Umansky and led by his agency starting Jan. 6. The office is located at 14140 Southwest Freeway, Suite 150.
Chris and Lizz Sansone lead The Sansone Group in Sugar Land, with a team of nine agents. The group has ranked No. 10 among small residential real estate teams in the Houston Business Journal’s 2025 Residential Real Estate Awards. They were also initiated in 2000 and began selling homes throughout the greater Houston area.
Umansky seeks out expansion with new offices
The Agency took interest in The Sansones after meeting with the team at a Houston Association of Realtors event in the eponymous city.
“Houston has always been on The Agency’s radar,” Umansky said.
Long-term fundamentals, strong local leadership and a sense of community are crucial assets the company searches for.
The Agency also has offices in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.
Launching The Agency and its success
Umansky began The Agency in 2011, with more than 150 offices established across North America, Central America and Europe. The Agency launched 27 new offices in 2025.
The reality star has obtained nearly $5 billion in sales. Most notably, Umansky sold the Playboy Mansion for an L.A. record $100 million, as well as the Walt Disney estate for $74 million. Michael Jackson’s last home was also sold for $18.1 million.
“With Chris and Lizz Sansone, we found leaders who understand their community, share our values and can help us grow in a way that strengthens our collaborative culture and referral network across the state,” Umansky said.
